Muyan-Bara – On Country Family Set 🌿👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Introducing the Muyan-Bara – On Country Family Set, designed by Sherren Gross, an Indigenous artist from the Nunukul, Nughie, and Gorenpul People of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) in Queensland. Muyan-Bara means “skin people” in Sherren’s native Jandai dialect, representing families of the same skin or clan group. This beautifully handcrafted set offers a deep insight into Aboriginal heritage, teaching children about traditional family structures, cultural practices, and connections to the land.

The set features a woven hut, a mother with baby, father and child, a camp fire, water hole with a platypus, kangaroo, goanna, and snake. All figures and accessories are housed in a convenient cotton storage bag. The Muyan-Bara set is a fantastic tool for storytelling, role-play, and engaging children with Aboriginal culture and First Nations heritage.

Each piece in this set is handmade by artisans under Fair Trade conditions and royalties are paid to Sherren Gross. The set includes an information card with a story, giving children a deeper understanding of Aboriginal family structures and traditions. Royalties have been paid on this item.
