About Ems for Kids (the maker):
Ems for Kids, proudly stocked at Growing Kind, is a family-founded brand dedicated to creating high-quality hearing protection for children. Established in 2007 by Daniel Gibney, a dad and drummer, the brand was inspired by a personal need: a safe and effective way to protect his daughter Emily’s ears while practicing drums or performing at gigs.
Realising a gap in the market for child-specific hearing protection, Dan designed and patented the world’s first folding earmuffs for kids, launching the brand under the name “Ems for Kids” as a tribute to his daughter, Emily.
In 2009, the brand innovated again, introducing baby earmuffs with a unique pressure-reducing headband, specifically designed for newborns. By 2017, the range expanded to include AUDIO headphones, offering children safe sound and entertainment options.
Ems for Kids has grown from a family need to a global name, with products sold online, in retail stores, and at international expos and trade shows. The Gibney family, including Dan’s wife Kate and their three children, Emily, Lucy, and Isaac, remain at the heart of the brand, passionately combining their love for family, music, and adventure to inspire their mission of protecting little ears everywhere.
