The Rainbow
All of our 2022 Kindness Angels feature a rainbow on the chest. Each rainbow is uniquely different. The Rainbow represents a promise of hope; it’s the bright warmth that follows a storm. It reminds us that there is light in even the darkest of times. We found the rainbow fitting after the last couple of years, we want it to remind you that their is good days coming and they can be achieved if we unite with kindness. For many, a rainbow also carries a personal symbolic meaning; representing inclusivity and diversity, an all-embracing image of love and friendship. We love that each rainbow is uniquely different, showcasing the diversity amongst all of us.
The Face
Our Kindness Angel is based off Waldorf principles of expression and creativity and therefore has little face expression. The absence of a mouth me distinguished facial features allows a child to assign different roles and feelings to their doll whilst exploring in play.

So the child and its doll will cheer or laugh and be happy together if the child wants it to. Having no set facial expression the is giving the child the opportunity to always only see what it wants and needs in its own play at that time through the doll.”
Gender Neutral
Our 2022 Kindness Angel comes with two hair options: short hair or long hair. We have avoided using gender specific terms, because we know hair does not determine a gender. This was your child can choose whom they want their angel to be.
Ethically Made
The 2022 Kindness Angels were made in collaboration with Tara Treasures, exclusively for Growing Kind. You won’t find our angels anywhere else in the world. With a playful mind and heart, the Tara Treasures felt products are designed in Melbourne and handmade in their cottage industry in Nepal. The Kindness Angels were ethically made using 100% NZ wool, whilst supporting fair wages for the woman artisans.

’25 Days of Christmas Kindness’

In the month of December, the Kindness Angel likes to spread their wings and visit your home.  The Angel invites happiness to those around her by encouraging small acts of kindness for the 25 days leading up to Christmas.  The Kindness Angel also sprinkles energy around self-compassion.

Each Kindness Angel comes beautifully packaged in a kraft storage box with red tissue paper.

You will also receive:

– 25x Kindness post cards to display each day with your angel

– 5x Blank Cards (Write your own)

– your ethically made Kindness Angel

Although we cannot tell you all of them, we wanted to share some examples of the acts of kindness included on the prompt cards:

  • pick some flowers and gift them to someone
  • bake a special treat for your neighbour
  • use chalk to write a nice message on the footpath

Additional downloadable worksheets include:

– instructions to use

– a profile to complete with your child

– reflection sheet to guide questioning and learning

– a checklist to ensure you complete all prompts.

The Kindness Angel has been hand-crafted whilst remaining kind to the environment. Fair trade and natural products have been used including NZ wool. 
 
The Kindness Angel is gender neutral to encourage imagination and appeal to everyone.
 

How to Use your Kindness Angel:

Step 1:
Introduce the Kindness Angel to your children. Give the angel a name and encourage your children to get to know it.
Complete the ‘Who Am I?’ Worksheet.

Step 2:
Each day place the Kindness Angel in a new position in the house and encourage your child to find it. Leave an Act of Kindness suggestion for your children to find.

Step 3:
The children will be excited to find their Angel and want to complete the suggestion. Make sure you have all of the materials ready.

Step 4:
Take photos of your child’s Kindness Angel and their acts of kindness to reflect on with them later. Use the reflection sheet to guide your conversation. Before bedtime is a great time to reflect on your day with your children.

Step 5:
Share your images with #thekindnessangel so that we can encourage kindness among the community.
