Sardines, herring, and mackerel are the main food sources for Hammerhead sharks. They were thought to kill prey by hitting it with their heads in the past. However, we now know that the unusual head shape improves their vision. A hammerhead shark’s eyes are located outside of its head on the left and right sides, giving it 360 degree vision. They are able to sense electromagnetic signals from their prey with their snout.
